Site Inspection Notes - Sonoma Sheraton Petaluma
OK, so I am sitting here trying to figure out how to write this up without sounding like a Fodor’s travel guide and I am not succeeding so I will give it my best shot.
Are you looking for great space for your next business event in Northern California?
We had the opportunity to rediscover a great business hotel in Wine Country right off the 101. The Sheraton Petaluma is an easy drive from SFO and Oakland and has all of the typical business amenities.
We had originally featured this property in our newsletter a couple of years ago when Anthony was the director of sales. He was quite helpful and provided some great background and info about the property. He has since gone on to Los Angeles (still in the Sheraton family I think).
What makes the property unique is its picturesque look and feel while sitting right next to the 101 and behind other businesses. (A 7-11 is a 5 minute walk—great if you forgot something, or want to pop out of a conference for a diet coke).
It sits on a Marina (nice) and has a great bar for unwinding in the evening. Room service and the restaurant are good as well. They have plenty of space to hold your evening networking reception.
I had the opportunity to stay here awhile back and really had a great stay. The beds are fantastic. One of the best features of the hotel is the proximity to some of the finest wineries in the world in the Sonoma and Napa Valleys. This can make for a great outing for the group. Another plus is the Adobe Creek Golf Course which is about a mile away. You can do a typical Thursday- Saturday pattern here quite well without breaking the bank while wowing the attendees.
The Sheraton Sonoma County features meeting and special event space with spectacular views that can be configured for groups of 5 to 650 and 183 guest rooms averaging 400 square feet that are equipped with state-of-the art amenities such as high-speed internet access, Cisco phone systems, and laptop safes. (that is where I sound like a Fodor's).
A nice place if you are looking to do a program in wine country that is focused on business and not an incentive. My thanks to the Sheraton Website for the images, mine came out crappy.
Please check them out, they are not your typical Sheraton!
